King Charles III and Queen Camilla made the decision to make a surprise appearance on the show while American Idol judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry were performing at the coronation concert.
As much as the judges enjoyed their time with the new King and Queen, they also gave the contestants and viewers a little treat. King Charles and Queen Camilla joined Katy and Lionel as they tuned in from Windsor Palace to welcome the Top 10 of American Idol.
The Regal shocked the competitors and crowd when they joined to talk with them on a live feed from the UK.
As Lionel Richie and Katy Perry were conversing with hosr Ryan Seacrest and the crowd, King Charles and Queen Camilla abruptly showed up in the video to surprise the viewers. Perry said, “We’re here for the coronation concert at Windsor Castle,” as Katy and Lionel stood in a room in the castle.
Lionel kept on making sense of,
“We’re trying to figure out what we can do to bring something different to the show, so I would like to…”
But before he could complete the sentence, King Charles and Queen Camilla showed up in the frame.
Charles kidded as he asked,
“I just wanted to check how long you’d be using this room.”
Charles III thanked the judge for his “brilliant performance,” and Lionel Richie thanked the King for coming by. While looking at Katy Perry, Camilla added, “I love your frock,” as the King and Queen praised the judges’ work.
After completing their presenting responsibilities, the judges later promised to attend the castle party. They also expressed gratitude and felicitation for the newly crowned King and Queen.

“The sad decline of #americanidol,” while another user added, “Charles and Camilla in American Idol shows the desperation and the state of the British monarchy trying to be relevant. This was so trashy.”
Another person wrote,
“Queen Elizabeth would never, but what can one expect from Charles and Camilla?” And, a fourth person wrote, “So in order to get Katy Perry & Lionel Richie to perform at the coronation, the newly crowned king & queen of Great Britain & several commonwealth nations…had to appear on American Idol?…”
Truth be told, there were several fans who were not so satisfied with their appearance.
