Twitter has since 2012, consistently published bi-annual updates, detailing the company’s enforcement actions housed in the Twitter Transparency Center.

Affixed with this, the company has been explicit in their advocacy for an Open Internet that is global, available to all, built on open standards and rooted in the protection of human rights.

According to Twitter, protecting the Open Internet — which continues to be under threat — requires meaningful transparency, which is essential to holding companies and governments to account.

As per the online social network, they are facing unprecedented challenges as governments around the world increasingly attempt to intervene and remove content.

‘This threat to privacy and freedom of expression is a deeply worrying trend that requires our full attention’. Twitter said.

The company on Tuesday, 25 January 2022, updated their Transparency Center, which highlights their long-standing commitment to meaningful transparency and the pressing, urgent need to defend the free, secure, and global Open Internet.

According to them, they continue to build on their commitment to sharing meaningful insights about the work they do through the publication of the latest update to their Twitter Transparency Center, including relevant data from January 1, 2021, through June 30, 2021.
