Kobbie Mainoo Is In An Excellent Condition. Likely To Start Against Lyon

Before Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal game with Lyon, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim says Kobbie Mainoo is in excellent physical condition.

After suffering a muscular injury during a training session, Kobbie Mainoo has been out since February.

Amorim stated in the lead-up to the European match that the 19-year-old, is back in training and is being closely watched and managed.

“Kobbie Mainoo is training with us,” he said. “We want to be cautious with our players, but there’s a chance he’ll be part of the squad.”

Harry Maguire, who was substituted in the derby shortly before the hour mark, was another issue that Amorim addressed. He explained that the medical personnel had previously agreed upon the defender’s allotted minutes.

“Harry had a 60-minute limit from the medical department, so he’s fit and ready,” he explained. “It wasn’t due to injury — it was just a precaution. We can’t afford more setbacks, so we’re managing players carefully ahead of a crucial match on Thursday.”
