Ghana’s youth have always yearned for young people to hold political positions in order to contribute new ideas and direct the nation’s affairs.
The King of Satire, Kweku Sintim-Misa (KSM), has revealed that, this has now come to pass as a result of President John Dramani Mahama appointing a large number of the youth in his administration.
“The President has now opened it up in Ghana’s Parliament, with a percentage of the MPs being young people,” the seasoned broadcaster said on his show “Talk Shop” on Wednesday, March 12.
“Young people have been provided opportunities in State Enterprises, Boards, and other organizations. This is what I refer to as the “young and the Dynamic”, he added.
Abeiku Santana, Kofi Okyere Darko, Ama Pratt, Shamima Muslim, Edudzie Tamakloe, Joselyn Dumas, James Gardiner, Okudzeto Ablakwa, Frank Amoakohene, Sam George, John Dumelo, Malik Basinatale, Suhyini, Sammy Gyamfi, and many others were among those he highlighted, stating that they ought to make a difference.
According to KSM, these young and vibrant individuals have not had a chance for a very long time, therefore this is a great chance for them to leave a lasting impression.
He went on to say that, for many years, the discussion has been about how older people have occupied these roles and prevented the younger generation from joining the ‘frame’. Therefore, it is their chance to demonstrate to Ghanaians their vitality and dynamism, he said.
KSM also begged the young appointees to abandon what he refers to as “NATO,” which stands for “No Action Talk Only,” where action takes the initiative.
The award-winning comedian, entertainer, and broadcaster suggested that they transform the sectors provided provided them in order to boost the youth’s self-esteem.
