
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski proceeded with his voracious spat infront of goal by scoring two times while Memphis Depay also got on the scoresheet as the Catalans won convincingly by 3-0 win at home to Elche in LaLiga on Saturday September 17.
The win took Barca top of the standings on 16 points from six games although Real Madrid, who are on 15 points, can get back to the highest point assuming that they win away to Atletico Madrid in their next game on Sunday September 18.
Barcelona’s job against the league’s bottom side was made simpler when Elche focus back Gonzalo Verdu was shipped off in the fourteenth minute for pulling Lewandowski’s shirt as the striker was going to arrive at the area.

“It was an important win. Elche were very defensive at the start with five at the back, but we also lost the ball too much.
