Singer Lizzo was recently sued by her former dancers for lewd behavior and body shaming. As though that was all, it is rumored that, the Made In America Festival that the artist was to feature has also been cancelled.
The event organizers cited that there were some situations happening ‘outside of their control’.
The singer has been an enthusiastic supporter of women’s expressing their sexualities and body inspiration movement, so this contention came as a major shock to many fans around the world. Now, these allegations have advanced toward the Made in America festival, that Lizzo was a headliner.
According to a statement made by the event organizers of Made in America festival which is a Philadelphia’s staple event, the program has been dropped, refering to “extreme conditions beyond production control” as the explanation.
The festival had at first scheduled Lizzo and SZA as its title acts, with a setup of other artists including Ice Zest, Lil Yachty, Miguel, Latto, Coi Leray, Doechii, and Metro Boomin, among others.

The event was also going to feature a collaborative performance from veteran rappers Mase and Cam’ron. It was originally planned to take place on September 2-3 at the iconic Benjamin Franklin Parkway in the city.
The statement read,
“This decision has been difficult and has not been made lightly nor without immense deliberation.” It concluded with, “All ticket holders will be refunded at the original point of purchase.”
Despite the fact that the organizers didn’t depict in their letter, many people believe that it is because of the lawsuit encompassing Lizzo, the justification for the festival getting cancelled.
Meanwhile, Lizzo reacted to the allegations made by her former workers, Arianna Davis, and Crystal Williams a couple of days ago. The 35-year-old took to Instagram to post her side of the story. She said,
“These last days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My Character has been criticized.”
The singer pointed out that she generally doesn’t respond to “false allegations.” However, she assured her fans that the allegations are “as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”
