Manchester United are almost done with the signing of PSG’s Manuel Ugarte in a £51m deal – with all parties confident of a deal being concluded before long.
United are approaching an agreement of a £51million ((€60million) deal for the PSG midfielder.
PSG signed Ugarte from Sporting last year for a fee of €60million, and that implies the French club wouldn’t pass up a major opportunity financially from his deal.
Ugarte was very impressive toward the beginning of last season for PSG, but lost his spot in the side and was considered not so suitable for Luis Enrique’s style of play.
PSG manager Enrique was allegedly worried about Ugarte’s shortcomings under lock and key.
However, Man United manager Erik ten Hag is exceptionally hopeful that the 23-year-old can have a major impact at Old Trafford.
Notwithstanding his challenges at PSG, Ugarte actually showed up last season as Enrique’s side won the homegrown high pitch of Ligue 1, the Coup de France and the Trophee des Champions.
Ugarte has been capped by Uruguay on 22 times, having made his debut in 2021.
United have been vigorously dynamic in the transfer market up until this point this mid year as ten Hag’s side hope to further develop after completing eighth in the Premier League last season.
