Ansu Fati, a forward for Barcelona, and United’s Marcus Rashford are being considered for a swap by Manchester United. This agreement might be finalized in January 2025.
According to reports, United is thinking of switching him for Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, who is also having trouble getting noticed under Hansi Flick.
In last Sunday’s 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth, Marcus Rashford was benched for the third time by Ruben Amorim’s team.
The 27-year-old was also ruled out of Thursday’s Carabao Cup quarterfinal loss by Spurs and the derby victory at Manchester City earlier in December.
Rashford stated in an interview two days prior to the match against Tottenham that he was “ready for a new challenge and the next steps” of a career that started in the Red Devils’ academy.
Rashford claims that he doesn’t want to be the one to make any statements that originate from him because he has witnessed how other players have left in the past.
The Premier League is reportedly interested in the United star, and the English forward has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain. However, in recent hours, Barcelona has surfaced as a potential contender.
According to Spanish reports, Barca manager Hansi Flick has approved the transfer because he thinks the Man United player will give the team more “life” and effectiveness.
United would also benefit greatly from the deal because it is known that they are not interested in bolstering any of their Premier League rivals by selling Rashford. After failing to establish himself under the German manager, Ansu Fati may be able to restart his career elsewhere with this move.
Fati has a fleeting experience in playing in the English top flight as he spent a year on loan at Brighton last season. That said, Barcelona’s financial constraints mean that the transfer would only be possible via a swap deal.
