Five-time Olympian Marta Da Silva has announced that she will be retiring from international football at the end of 2024.
The Brazilian football legend has stated that she will soon retire, although it has not been determined whether she will attend Paris 2024.
The Brazil shirt-wearing 38-year-old is ending her career.
“If I go to the Olympics, I will enjoy every moment because regardless of whether I go or not, this is my last year with the national team. There is a moment when we have to understand that the time has come.
In an interview that is yet to air on CNN, she stated,
“I am very calm about this because I see with great optimism this development that we are having in relation to young [players]”
The twice-winner of a silver medal (in 2004; 2008), is ostensibly one of the greatest female footballers on the planet.
