After extending her contract with Barcelona until June 30, 2026, 20-year-old Catalan Martina Fernández will spend the next six months with Liverpool, who are presently ranked ninth in the Women’s Super League.
Although Fernández made her debut in 2021–2022, she didn’t truly establish herself as a member of the first team until the 2023–2024 season.
Martina participated in 22 Liga F games under Jonatan Giráldez, starting 12 of them.
But for her, 2024–2025 has not been a good year. She has been out of football for three months since the summer due to a meniscus injury. Additionally, she sustained a knee injury two games after returning, which kept her out of commission for an additional month and a half.
