Messi Ruled Out Of Argentina’s Squad For The World Cup Qualifiers..

Lionel Messi has not been included on the latest Argentina national team list as he continues to recover from the ankle injury he sustained during the Copa América final in July 2024.

In the first half of the final of the competition, Messi injured his right ankle and tried to play through the pain before being forced off the field in the 66th minute.

The player suffered ligament damage, according to Inter Miami CF, and will be out indefinitely while he recovers.

Since the final, Messi hasn’t kicked any ball or train for the time being.

Lionel Scaloni, head coach of the Argentina national team, will rely on the other players when La Albiceleste take on Chile on September 5 in Buenos Aires and Colombia on September 10 in Bogotá.

With 15 points from six games played, Argentina currently leads the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. On November 21, 2023, Argentina defeated Brazil 1-0.

With 12 points, Colombia is in third place in the standings, while Chile is struggling in eighth place with just five points.
