Meta AI Engages Ghana To Contribute To The Growth Of Tourism In Ghana

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Mr. Kojo Boakye, the Vice President of Meta Incorporated (previously Facebook Inc.), who oversees Public Policy and is in charge of Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey, paid a visit to Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.

The visit of the goal was to talk about how Meta Incorporated might help Ghana’s tourism, cultural, and creative sectors flourish.

In line with Meta’s mission to “Build the future of human connection and the technology that makes it possible,” Mr. Boakye said the Ministry’s top focus is to leverage the arts and culture as a catalyst for economic growth.

According to Mr. Boakye, Meta Incorporated has already made investments in Ghana to give the young people the digital skills they need to take advantage of the numerous opportunities the internet offers through social media. This involves promoting and selling the goods they have created using their digital expertise in order to generate revenue.

On her part, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie expressed gratitude to Meta Incorporated for their desired partnership with the Ministry. She asked for capacity building and training for the Ministry’s employees. For the training to have an effect on the sector, she said it should be made available to all thirteen of the Ministry’s agencies.

Additionally, she asked that the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) be brought on board.
