Missed The Akple Festival 2023? This Is What Went Down (Watch)

This year’s Akple Festival which is the third edition of the celebration fell off at the Mmofra place in Dzorwulu-Accra. The event was full of a lot of fun, including a cultural display, food, and a music party.

At the Mmofra location, there were a lot of patrons waiting for the fun to start. The event was also to observe Ghana’s Independence Day in cultural uniqueness and beauty. In the midst of good indigenous music, a variety of delectable local delicacies were on display, luring attendees to the dance floor.

The theme of this year’s festival was “Discover The Good Life“, united more than thirty food sellers to serve revelers dishes like Akple with Abobitaadi, Fetritoto, ademe and other dishes, like banku and tilapia flavored with vegetables, and significantly more.

Ebenezer Echiri Mensah, Chief of BrandwithEchiri, emphasized the need to see the value in what is local and push for more indigenous contents. He revealed that they celebrate the 6th of March as the day Ghana freed itself from western culture to celebrate their own.

“For us, we chose this day to mark or go back to what is indigenous and what is cultural, what is heritage and which better way to celebrate it than to use food, music and a bubbly atmosphere like this here at Akple festival 2023”.

The music, and vivacious crowd made the event a beautiful one. Denyigba Lorlor Borborbor music Band was also present at the event, and their impressive cultural performance drew many people, including foreigners, to the dance floor. Following that, the ever-exciting God’s Gift Brass Band also gave an extraordinary musical performance.

With their incredible floor moves, the Adaha Dance Band also added a personal touch to the music. The Band performed a plethora of high-life tunes that the audience couldn’t help but sing and dance to, transporting patrons into the Independence era and the new skul music era.

Akple Festival is a yearly food and music party that offers an exceptional chance for people especially the Ewes to appreciate treats in an effervescent climate flavored with great local tunes. The occasion happens each Independence Day and has been so consistently.
