According to Pius Enam Hadzide, Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, five of the ten Youth Resource Centres that are being built across the nation will be finished and handed over by the end of March 2023.
The facilities were supposed to be built in nine months, starting in 2018, but five years later, none of them have been finished.
But investigations reveal that several of the facilities, which have already received approximately $20 million in funding for these projects, have been neglected and abandoned.

For instance, although the Koforidua Youth Resource Centre was built five long years ago, the hopes of a cutting-edge facility have not been realized.
However, Mr. Pius Enam Hadzide stated in response to the issue that the authority has strategically chosen to focus resources on completing five of the projects. He claims that by the end of the month, those five will be finished and handed over.
“The instructions to the contractors which we are still following is the end of this quarter so I expected that by the end of March [five of the projects should be completed]. Tartan track is being laid as we speak in Axim because we are almost complete. I can assure you that we are committed to completing the projects. We have almost complete five. We will complete the other five in due time.” he said on Joy News during an interview.
The following are the five projects that should be finished by the end of the month: Wa, Dormaa, Ho, Axim, and Koforidua.
