MTN Group Introduces Y’ello Care 2025 To Empower Communities

The 2025 iteration of MTN Group’s eagerly awaited flagship employee volunteerism drive, 21 Days of Y’ello Care, will take place from June 1–21, 2025.

In its eighteenth year, Y’ello Care has proven time and time again that employee-led initiatives can bring about significant change in the communities they serve. Since its launch, the campaign has inspired thousands of MTN workers to back meaningful projects centered on youth development, health, education, and economic empowerment.

While staying rooted in their dedication to enabling the advantages of a contemporary, connected existence for everyone, the campaign changes annually to meet the most urgent requirements of society.

Through the efforts of 14,376 MTN volunteers who have completed 56,306 total hours of community involvement, MTN has impacted the lives of 107,034 people in various communities over the last six years.

This year’s theme, “Connecting at the Roots – Connecting communities through the use of digital tools,” responds to the ongoing challenge of digital exclusion, particularly in rural, remote, and underserved areas.

Across many parts of Africa, limited connectivity continues to constrain access to education, healthcare, financial services, and economic opportunity. Women, youth, persons with disabilities, and displaced populations are disproportionately affected.

Y’ello Care 2025 will see MTNers across their markets implement practical, community-led initiatives that leverage technology to unlock connectivity to bridge these gaps.

The campaign places a high priority on inclusive engagement, responsible delivery, and meaningful partnerships—all of which are consistent with MTN’s principles. The organization seeks to provide workable solutions that are sensitive to local settings, considerate of community goals, and inclusive of individuals who are frequently left out of digital advancements through dependable partnerships with community stakeholders.
