MTN To Give A Big Boost To SMEs

Angela Mensah-Poku, the Chief Enterprise Business Officer of MTN Ghana, has reiterated the company’s promse to empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country.

Over the years, MTN has supported SMEs in a variety of ways, including digital transformation, access to financing, the development of skills, and market expansion.

Angela was speaking in Koforidua at a sensitization program that was organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Trade Ministry to educate the general public about the SME Growth and Opportunity (GO) program, which was launched in July 2024 by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

The program aims to raise a total of GH8.2 billion to provide the sector with financial and technical support, giving SMEs a big boost.

Additionally, the initiative aimed to boost the country’s private sector and bring the country closer to its 5% annual growth potential.

The program will be implemented by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Ghana EXIM Bank, and Development Bank Ghana (DGB), with coordination coming from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
