At this year’s Video Music Awards (VMAs), the music industry was in full force, as evidenced by the stunning outfits on display.
Since it was first transmission just about forty years ago, MTV’s yearly awards have become known for no particular reason and eye-getting looks.
Furthermore, there were a lot of naughty outfits on display at New Jersey’s Prudential Center this year — from Doja Feline’s webbed Ap0cene outfit to Bebe Rexha’s black cowhide dress with back patterns, which evoked Prince’s butt-exposing yellow ribbon suit from the 1991 VMAs.
Megan Thee Stallion wore a dress by Brandon Blackwood, while Artist of the Year nominee Karol G chose a sparkling beige dress by the French label Ashi Studio. Both of these stunning looks were on display. In a sheer off-the-shoulder dress from Schiaparelli’s most recent Fall-Winter Haute Couture collection with a key-hole-shaped opening on the front, Anitta also made an impression.
Preshow host Saweetie’s pink Flintstones look from New York label Area and rapper NLE Choppa’s purple suede two-piece were two examples of attendees who opted for complementary hues as the evening’s red carpet turned pink.
Demi Lovato also donned a dramatic rock star leather look from up-and-coming Chinese brand Buerlangma, while Jared Leto wore an all-black ensemble with vampish eyeshadow.
Cardi B had a great time in a custom look from Turkish-English designer Dilara Findikoglu’s eponymous brand. Made from many metal clasps, the striking look is a story length rendition of smaller than normal dress seen on the name’s Fall-Winter 2023 runway.
Dolce & Gabbana’s pink gown represented Nicki Minaj’s bridal Barbiecore. Dixie D’Amelio, a TikTok star, wore a white strapless Maticevski mermaid dress to the awards show, and Charli, a black dress with playful white trim, was a contrast that worked well together.
Shakira, who was the winner of this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Awards, showed up in a gold revealing cut-out dress by Versace and a couple of Jimy Choo shoes.
Tiffany Haddish was one of various stars who wore a decorated Jason Wu dress, with a dark bodysuit under, as well as Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and studs and rings by Reza.

Tomorrow x Together, the South Korean boy band who attended their first VMAs, also looked sharp in a variety of black, white, and tan outfits.
Gold and diamond jewelry from Ariel Saidian, Anita Ko, “T” and Maria Tash complemented Taylor Swift’s Versace gown.
Doja Feline wore a trying Ap0cene outfit matched with transparent pointed siphons, precious stone crystal fixture hoops and glittery wraparound silver arm bands. Her makeup carried on the theme, featuring thin arched brows, bold white eyeshadow, and spidery black eyelashes.
Country star Kelsea Ballerini kept things smooth and straightforward with a red strap neck cut-out dress from eveningwear name Mônot. Bebe Rexha likewise looked exceptionally lovely in her dark calfskin dress with cone bustier and ribald back patterns — and a tail.
Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez was totally enveloped with a dark suit with a curiously large child blue bow, a dark Gucci bamboo handle Diana handbag and dark cowhide boots while Tinashe likewise went for a shimmering sheer look.
Olivia Rodrigo got the radiance a low profile bejeweled Ludovic de Holy person Sernin silver outfit made of 150,000 Swarovski gems. Her “GUTS” rings, which are featured on the cover of her most recent album, and Roger Vivier’s platform sandals completed the look.

Saweetie, who hosted the awards preshow, arrived early in a look straight from the Fall/Winter 2023 couture runway of New York label Area. With its bone-shaped neck and waistline fastenings, the pink dress, according to the rapper and singer, is a “caveman” look that references “fashion when it first started.”
In a sparkling sheer beige dress from the French label Ashi Studio, Karol G embraced the see-through fashion trend. Entertainer and model Colton Haynes wore an all-white Dior outfit while Megan You Steed wore a transparent dark custom Brandon Blackwood dress with Jacob and Co. adornments.
Model Emily Ratajkowski wore a semi-sheer cross section classic Jean Paul Gaultier maxi skirt with Melissa Kaye gems. To match Cardi B’s dress, Offset wore silver clips in his hair. He also wore silver jewelry, a sparkly skinny tie, and a black and silver buckled belt with his dark suit.

South Korean boy band Stray Kids, who were nominated in the Best K-Pop category, were smartly coordinated in black and white ensembles.
