Pop sensations like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyonce, and others were in awe of Diana Ross when she arrived on stage during Sunday night’s awards ceremony. The audience gave Ross an immediate standing ovation.

Ross made an unexpected appearance as a presenter wearing a stunning Dolce & Gabbana ensemble, which included a white tulle cape over a shimmering silver dress that brought back memories of the 1970s, when she was at the height of her musical career. She presented one of the most coveted honors of the night: ‘Song of the Year’.

Every single person in the audience stood up in awe when Ross suddenly entered the stage. Taylor Swift’s applause seemed to be unflinching, but Sabrina Carpenter nearly started crying as she watched the legendary Ross take the stage.

Jay Z couldn’t stop smiling broadly at the sight of the music icon, and Beyonce was clearly moved to see Ross.

Speaking to the crowd, Ross said,

“May this moment remind us all of the power we hold,” before adding, “Even in the darkness we can rise again and keep the light of hope and love alive.”

Kendrick Lamar received the ‘Song of the Year’ award from Diana Ross for his diss track “Not Like Us,” which was part of his highly publicized feud with Drake. In addition, the Compton native took home several honors, including “Record of the Year.”
