NDC Has Failed In Galamsey Fight — Ofosu Sefa

Prince Ofosu Sefa

Prince Ofosu Sefa, the CEO of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has charged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the country’s ruling party, has failed Ghanaians in the fight against illegal mining, or galamsey.

Ofosu Sefa vehemently asserted in a recent interview that the NDC is not deserving of praise or acknowledgment for their efforts to stop illicit mining, which has greatly exacerbated environmental damage and water body destruction across the nation.

“The NDC has failed Ghanaians woefully in the fight against galamsey. They deserve absolutely no praise. In fact, their track record on illegal mining is shameful,” he stated.

Ofosu Sefa claims that despite its pledge during the 2024 campaign, the government lacked the political will and practical solutions to address the problem, which allowed illegal mining to flourish under their leadership.

Prince Ofosu Sefa instead commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s initiatives for doing their best in handling illicit mining, pointing to the implementation of community mining programs and the deployment of Operation Vanguard as instances of audacious and proactive measures made to address the activities.
