Amadu Sorogho, the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for the Madina constituency, has promised that the party will not abuse its parliamentary majority.
In a Tuesday interview, Amadu Sorogho emphasized that the NDC has mature and responsible leaders who will make sure that the party’s vast majority in Parliament is used wisely.
The NDC is a disciplined party, he boasted, and members cannot simply misbehave within the party.
“You can’t just misbehave in the NDC and have nobody bold enough to say anything just because of your proximity to maybe the president or your influence or your number and that is what gives me the assurance that this overwhelming number that we have in Parliament will not be abused,” Amadu Sorogho added.
“Let me reassure everyone that, in contrast to the NPP, the NDC typically has adults present. Those in the NDC never have a free-for-all show. The NDC has an advantage over the NPP because of the adults present.”
The vast majority in Parliament and how they can control themselves to avoid “intimidating” the minority NPP have been the subject of numerous discussions.
The NDC has promised that there won’t be any such thing, though.
