Ne-Yo simply does not like it when people criticize his romantic life. The singer of “Miss Independent” came out after receiving criticism on social media for having a polygamous relationship with influencer Arielle Hill and two Only Fans models, Phoenixx Feather and Bella.
Ne-Yo made fun of those who doubted his romance in an Instagram Story on February 20 by writing,
“Them: ‘NEYO WE DON’T APPROVE OF YOUR POLY RELATIONSHIP.'”
In response, the singer posted a selfie of himself wearing a black-and-white shirt with the caption, “Fun fact: I don’t care.”
Additionally, the 45-year-old smiled broadly for the camera, showing that he is unconcerned by the negativity that is occurring.
In July of 2023, Ne-Yo, who had already finalized his divorce from ex-wife Crystal Renay after seven years of marriage, first raised suspicions that he was in a polyamorous relationship when he was seen holding hands with Arielle and Bella on a Los Angeles beach. In addition to Phoenixx, he acknowledged dating both women the following year.
Insisting that his preference wasn’t a criticism, the singer is the father of three children with Crystal and four children from previous relationships.
“I am not s–tting on marriage,” he explained. “I’m not s–tting on anyone who has figured out how to make that thing work for them. Again, everything’s not for everybody”, he wrote on Instagram.
And while he acknowledged that he was previously monogamous, Ne-Yo emphasized how much more “true” he felt being with multiple women.
“As long as my happy ain’t messing with anybody else’s happy, I’m in the right place,” he shared. “I’ll be damned if I ever go back to that person that needed to lie for the appeasement of somebody else. I’m not that no more”.
“Yes we’re in the public eye and we know people are gonna voice their opinion that’s what’s expected,” the model wrote on Instagram Feb. 10, alongside a photo of the foursome on a boat. “But y’all need to understand over here it’s a solid foundation we understand each other we stand on 10 when it comes to each other a lot people will never understand that and that’s cool just know it’s US VS NOBODY”, he ended.
