Neymar Jr. has returned to his longtime Brazilian club after his contract with Al-Hilal, a Saudi team, was terminated.
The player has returned to play for Santos, his boyhood team, and will do so for the foreseeable future.
On his social media accounts, the president of Santos has confirmed Neymar’s return.
Since leaving Santos in 2013 to play for Barcelona in Europe, Neymar has grown into one of the best forwards in the world.
He made a vow to come back to Santos someday before departing in 2013. Now is the moment. He has joined Santos after his £130 million-a-year contract with Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal was terminated. Due to an ACL injury, Neymar only appeared in seven games and only managed one goal for Al-Hilal.
“Hello, Ney, our boy!” Vila’s boy (Santos’ stadium, Belmiro). Return to your happiness wearing the black and white shirt. The country of Santos welcomes you with open arms.
Teixeira posted an emotional video of a teenage Neymar having fun during his adolescent years at the club, complete with snippets of him celebrating and scoring goals.
Having won three Copa Libertadores titles, the South American version of the Champions League, eight national titles, and 22 regional leagues in Sao Paulo, Santos is among the biggest clubs in Brazil.
The Vila Belmiro has hosted Brazilian greats like Pele, Carlos Alberto, Coutinho, Zito, and many more over the years. During their heyday in the 1960s, they routinely defeated top European opposition on international tours.
Santos, however, has struggled recently, losing to the second division in 2023, but they recovered last year to win Serie B at the first attempt.
It Feels Good To Be Back- Neymar Speaks On Return
In order to guarantee his return to the team where he made his debut in 2009 at the age of 17, Neymar and Santos negotiated a six-month contract with a one-year extension clause.
Globo claims that Neymar owed slightly more than £52 million from his Saudi contract, and it is thought that he forfeited a significant portion of that sum in order to terminate his agreement.
Although he is Brazil’s all-time top scorer, his career has been marred by injuries of various severity and has not been as successful as it was when he was at Barcelona.
No Brazilian league star has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or besides Neymar, who was nominated three times for his accomplishments at Santos, including one season with Barcelona.
Neymar made his debut for Santos at the Vila Belmiro, where he scored 136 goals in 225 games.
