
Three film production companies have received funding in the form of grant from the National Film Authority (NFA) to support their project.
The purpose of the Creation Africa and CLAP ACP2 Co-production Grant is to foster innovation and collaboration in the Ghanaian film industry.
The project is supported by the National Film Authority, and partners include Creation Africa, the Organization Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), and the French Embassy.
On Tuesday, June 25, the National Film Authority’s Creation Africa and CLAP ACP2 Co-production Grant winners were announced at the Accra Tourist Information Center.
Among the recipients were:
• Driving Park Limited who received €80,000 for their project ‘A Dream to Die For which tackles illegal mining.
• Adjoa Films got €5,000 for their film ‘Regulated Minds’, a film which explores the vulnerability of men and mental health.
• Midnight Run Productions also received €5,000 for their project titled ‘Tantra, a horror film about night life in Accra.
Explaining how the three film projects were selected, the NFA CEO Juliet Asantewaa Asante said:
“We put out a call after we thought that we had enough to start and a lot of productions came through. But we were looking at specific things and key among them was co productions.”
