On May 5, 2025, the National Identification Authority (NIA) will no longer accept registrations at its headquarters.
In order to obtain services like first issuance, replacement, and updates, the NIA issued a statement encouraging the public to visit any of its District Offices or Premium Centers.
The NIA says the action is a component of its endeavors to enhance its services.
To help the public avoid long lines at registration facilities, the Authority has announced intentions to reopen its online application portal in the next few days.
“In the coming days, we will reintroduce the online application portal and encourage the public to use it to avoid long queues at the various centres,” the NIA stated.
The Authority will work with the private sector to offer government services around-the-clock, and new premium centers will shortly open, the NIA also announced.
“New premium centers will open in the coming days, and we will collaborate with the private sector to provide government 24/7 services,” the statement added.
