
The Managing Director of National Investment Bank PLC (NIB), Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, met with Minister of Tourism Abla Dzifa Gomashie at her office on Thursday in an attempt to work with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.
The meeting’s main focus was on cooperative ways to boost Ghana’s tourism, cultural, and creative industries while highlighting NIB’s contribution to the country’s growth.
Chief Dr. Zakaria said the alliance and collaboration will allow NIB to explore prospects in the tourism, cultural, and creative industries. While the Ministry also works with NIB by channeling its finances and those of its Agencies through the Bank, he noted that the sector plays a vital part in Ghana’s economic development and that the Bank will need to investigate potential inside the sector.
He noted that such a partnership will not only strengthen NIB’s financial Base but also enhance its capacity to support the government’s developmental initiatives.
Abla Dzifa Gomashie also welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with NIB and thanked Chief Dr. Zakaria and his staff for the visit. In order to establish a cooperative partnership with the Bank, she said, the Ministry was close to obtaining a grant from two investors and would secure the required authorizations to open an account with NIB to manage the funds.

In order to streamline and improve the effectiveness of revenue collection at national heritage sites around the nation, including forts and castles, there were also talks about NIB’s assistance in collecting fees.
Hon. Gomashie urged the Bank to take into account initiatives that would help women in accordance with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She emphasized the significance of supporting cultural tourism and women’s empowerment as paths to sustainable development.
The Ministry and NIB are prepared to make a substantial contribution to the social and economic development of the country.
