
BET has announced the nominations for the forthcoming 2021 BET Soul Train Awards scheduled for Sunday November 28.
This year’s awards ceremony which will be hosted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold, has H.E.R. leading the nominations list with eight (8) nods, including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Video of the Year, among others. Jazmine Sullivan and Chris Brown additionally follow with six nominations each.
Wiz Kid and TEMS are additionally found in the list with five nominations each. The awards function will be a stuffed event, that will also honor singer Ashanti and Maxwell as the ‘Lady of Soul’, and ‘Legendary’ Awards respectively. As per Ashanti, she is very honored to be recognised as the Lady of Soul. She said:
“This is a full circle moment for me because I received the ‘Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year’ Award at the Lady of Soul Awards in 2002. As we commemorate 50 years of Soul Train, I’m proud to be a part of this legacy and to return to the Apollo to celebrate.”
Maxwell is equally thankful to be sharing this moment to everybody and getting back to the Apollo for an evening of greatness. Many other artists are hopeful to go away with an award.
