According to the findings of a survey that was carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), SchengenVisaInfo.com, the Nordic nation is not included among the cities that are the most expensive in the world outside of the aforementioned factors.

Norway Ranked As The Most Developed Country In The World

As a result, Norway has become more affordable for a large number of passengers over the past few years, despite significant challenges like rising inflation, COVID-related restrictions, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Norway was able to open its doors to a large number of visitors from other countries despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and the restrictions imposed to contain its further spread.

According to Statistics Norway’s data, the number of visitor nights spent in hotels and other lodging establishments increased by a total of 33% from 2021, returning to the same levels as those recorded in 2019.

Norway’s population was more likely to travel within the country in 2022 than in 2021, according to statistics. Foreign guest nights tripled at the same time.

A previous OECD report says that, Norway’s tourism industry has contributed significantly to the economy over the past ten years, reaching a total of NOK 127.4 million in 2019, or 3.6% of GDP.
