Novak Djokovic Hit In The Head With A Water Bottle

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic was hit in the head with a water bottle following his second-round triumph at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Italy, on Friday May 10.

The 36-year-old Serbian was signing signatures for onlookers when he was struck by the water bottle, as per the competition organizers.

Nonetheless, authorities said Djokovic had returned to his hotel and that his condition is nothing to worry about.

Organizers say, it was an accident. They gave a video showing the jug dropping out of an spectator’s backpack.

Djokovic later posted on X, previously Twitter, saying thanks to fans for their messages.

“This was an accident and I am fine resting at the hotel with an ice pack. See you all on Sunday,” he said.

Djokovic beat Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-3 6-1 and is next booked to face Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo on Sunday May 12.
