Starting off her music career was extremely difficult despite the fact that, Christiana Love, now Obaapa Christy feels she was called to do music. Of course, the journey was not as easy as a pie, but Obaapa has had the option to wait and go through all the challenges to date, hitting 20 years in the music business as of now.
The multiple award winning gospel singer got going with a gospel group called ‘Hallelujah Voices’, where she got known by the world, before moving on as a solo artist. Starting around 2002, Obaapa Christy has engaged, ‘healed’, ‘delivered’ and transformed many people to the best through her inspiring and relatable tunes.
As one of the best singers in Ghana, she has cut that extraordinary specialty that makes her remarkable when she walks to the stage to perform. The truth of the matter is, Obaapa Christy is an unimaginable Live Performer who always puts smiles on the faces of fans who troop to her shows.
Due to her consistency in the music space, especially the gospel clique, Obaapa Christy is ostensibly one of the longest-serving gospel ministers. To that end, she is gearing up to celebrate her twentieth Anniversary in Accra-Ghana.
The musician who was conferred with a National honor by John Kufuor in 2008, is expecting to host other top Gospel acts for the impending big show. Some of the artists includes: Piesie Esther, Francis Amo, Jack Alolome, Noble Nketia, Kwaku Gyasi, Ernest Opoku Jnr, Brother Sammy, Kofi Sarpong and many others artists.
Obaapa Christy has 14 albums which includes: Back to the Sender, Hyebre Sesafo, Moving Forward, Holy Ghost, Mekamafo, and some more. She has demonstrated to the world why she is one of the best gospel artists through her well composed and motivating tunes.
Obaapa Christy’s twentieth Anniversary is coming up on Sunday the fourth (4th) of September, 2022. The time is 4PM at the auditorium of UPSA in Accra. Tickets are also going for GHC30, GHC50 and GHC100. She is beseeching all admirers of her music to troop to the venue to support her express appreciation to God Almighty.
