Omicron Has Forced This Year’s Grammy Awards To Be Postponed

The 2022 Grammy Awards which was booked to fall off on Monday, January 31, on the CBS Television Network has been postponed indefinitely.

As per the Academy, after cautious thought and investigation with city and state authorities, health and safety experts, the artists local area and their many partners, they had to postpone this year’s 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show.

The decision was made due to the health and safety of those in the music community, the live crowd, and the many individuals who work energetically to produce the show. According to the Academy, this remains their main concern.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks. However, The Academy looks forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon.

In the interim, the Recording Academy announced the nominations for every one of the 86 categories.

Prior to the telecast, the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony would have been held at the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel.
