Paris Hilton intends to make changes to assist those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

The socialite said in an Instagram post that she would donate $100,000 to help those displaced when their homes were destroyed by fire. She will also match other donors’ contributions up to an extra $100,000.

Paris says she has sympathy for people who, like her, lost not just their homes but also their most treasured belongings and sense of security.

According to Paris, she initiated the emergency fund specifically to help parents who no longer have a safe haven for their young children because she is a mother herself, through her nonprofit organization, 11:11 Media Impact.

Paris, meanwhile, visited her home again and gave a tour of the burned-out remnants of her Malibu residence. On Thursday, January 9, she uploaded to Instagram a video of herself strolling through the still-smoldering ruins.

Paris expressed her sorrow at the loss of all the wonderful memories she had created with her family at home, but she is grateful that they are safe and well.
