A Pele’s cancer is getting worse and he is in critical condition at the hospital. Pele, a football legend, is in the hospital this holiday season as his health deteriorates. Doctors say that Pele is here to control his cancer medication.
On Wednesday, December 21, the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo announced in a statement that Pele’s cancer has progressed and that the 82-year-old Brazilian soccer legend is receiving “elevated care” due to “kidney and cardiac dysfunctions.”
The three-time World Cup champion’s recent respiratory infection, which was made worse by COVID-19, was not mentioned by the hospital.
Following the removal of a colon tumor in September 2021, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pele, has been undergoing chemotherapy as part of his treatment for cancer.

Pele will remain in the hospital through Christmas, according to Kely Nascimento, one of his daughters.
She posted the following on Instagram:
“We decided with doctors that, for many reasons, it will be best for us to stay here, with all the care that this new family at Einstein gives us,” she wrote on Instagram. “We will even make some caipirinhas (no kidding). We love you and we will give up an update next week.”
Pele remains one of Brazil’s all-time leading goal scorers with 77 goals, having led the team to World Cup victories in 1958, 1962, and 1970.
During the most recent World Cup, Neymar beat Pele’s record. During the Qatar tournament, which Argentina won on Sunday, the former footballer received a number of tributes and wishes for quick recovery.
