
Manchester United young players Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho join Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka in the final list of the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
After a vote by the members of the Professional Footballers’ Association, the six-man shortlist, which also includes former Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and Brighton player Joao Pedro, was announced on Monday, August 13.
Considering the output of the nominees in the previous season, the prize this year appears to be highly competitive.
22-year old Cole Palmer scored 22 goals and made 11 assists in 34 Premier League games for the Blues.
Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo also had a great season at Old Trafford. For instance, Mainoo emerged completely a key player for the club as well as the nation.
Cole Palmer then again, was fantastic for Chelsea during his debut campaign and completed the league season with 33 goals.

Bukayo Saka brought back home the award for the 2022-23 season and he is in with an opportunity again after one more great campaign at the Emirates.
Pedro was only one goal shy of that mark in his maiden season at the Amex following a big-money move from Watford. The striker might have eclipsed that tally if not a hamstring injury which sidelined him for six matches.
The winner of the PFA Young Player of the Year award will be announced on August 20.
