Police Shoot Down A Suspected Armed Robber In Wenchi

Early on Saturday, December 28, police in Wenchi, Bono Region, shot and killed a suspected armed robber on the Wenchi-Awisa stretch.

According to information obtained from a trustworthy police source, the incident occurred at approximately 03:40 am and the body was subsequently placed in the mortuary of Wenchi Government Hospital.

According to the source, the deceased was one of roughly four alleged armed robbers who broke into the stretch and stole from Yutong and Sprinter bus passengers.

They were unsuccessful, unfortunately, when the police night patrol team came across the robbery that took place at the stretch’s Awisa cemetery, which led to a gunfight.

The police recovered a locally made single-barrel gun, a student bag that contained two Itel cell phones, a power bank, six “BB” cartridges, and undisclosed amounts of cash, while the other robbers were able to flee.

According to the source, all of the passengers were unharmed and no arrests had been made as police investigations proceeded.
