
President Akufo-Addo has offered thanks to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and Asanteman for supporting the New Patriotic Party and his candidature in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
President Akufo-Addo visited the Asantehene on October 1 at his Palace at Manhyia, at the beginning of his 4-day working visit to the Ashanti Region.
As indicated by the President, he visited to show his appreciation to Otumfour Osei Tutu II and his kin (Asanteman) for their help in the last elections. The President is appreciative for the undeterred support for his party (the NPP) by Asanteman since days of yore, and especially in the last elections.
The President was at the palace to show the Asantehene and the whole realm his appreciation for that strong support that has seen him and his party in power.
President Akufo-Addo is also in the Region to find out more about the various developmental projects going on in the Region, and tune in for himself the worries of occupants, traditional authority and opinion leaders.
The President also used the chance to assure people of the Ashanti Region that he won’t take their support for himself and the NPP for granted, saying he will make sure all projects in the region will be done, with many as yet progressing in the Region.
Projects like the One District, One Factory (1D1F), which he assured them are altogether progressing including the Kumasi Airport development which is 77% complete. The airport is expected to be 100% complete by June 2022.
