President Akufo-Addo Jets Off For A New GFP Summit

On Monday June 19, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic, left Ghana for a six-day working trip to Spain, France, and the United Kingdom.

President Akufo-Addo will attend the Aqaba Process meeting of West Africa and the Sahel on June 20, 2023, in Cordoba, Spain, at the joint invitation of His Majesty Felipe Juan Pablo Alfonso VI, King of Spain, and His Majesty Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein, King of Jordan.

He will travel to Paris, France, at the request of French President Emmanuel Macron, to take part in the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, which will take place from June 22 to June 23, 2023. On June 23, 2023, he will travel to the United Kingdom for a private visit.

The Hon. Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation was with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Dr. Kwaku Afriyie and some Presidency officials were also part of the delegation that went with the President.

On Saturday, June 24, 2023, he will return to Ghana. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President, will perform his duties in his absence in accordance with Article 60, paragraph 8 of the Constitution.
