President Mahama Has Demonstrated Strong Leadership In His First 100 Days In Office— Prof. Adei

Prof. Stephen Adei

In a statement released during a policy dialogue in Accra, Professor Stephen Adei, a renowned Ghanaian economist and former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), publicly praised President Mahama for what he calls a “remarkable and impactful” first 100 days in office. He said his administration has shown strong leadership, clear policy direction, and a commendable sense of urgency in tackling the country’s biggest problems.

“The first 100 days are symbolic, but they set the tone for an administration’s priorities and effectiveness,” Professor Adei said. “This government has hit the ground running, especially in stabilizing the economy, fostering investor confidence, and implementing key reforms in education and public sector governance.”

He cited a number of measures as proof of a government dedicated to significant change, such as the stabilization of the cedi, anti-corruption initiatives, and the introduction of youth employment programs. He also praised the administration’s openness in its interactions and readiness to work with the private sector and civil society.

“No Journalist Will Be Subjected To Retaliation Under President Mahama”

As the government moves past its honeymoon period, Professor Adei urged Ghanaians to maintain their optimism while simultaneously holding it accountable. For the momentum to continue, each of us—citizens, civil society, and the media—must do our share. He underlined that while constructive criticism is important, we must also give praise when it is due.

Senior aides say the administration is still focused on delivering results and keeping campaign pledges, but the President, who took office earlier this year after a hotly contested election, has not yet directly responded to the praise.
