“President Mahama Has Got It; No Advice Needed Now”

Nhyira FM’s seasoned broadcast journalist Nana Kwadwo Jantuah has stated his unwavering support for President John Mahama‘s current administration and implied that the president does not currently need outside advice.

Jantuah said during an interview on ‘The BKB show with Bright Boadu.

“What John Mahama is doing is unbelievable—it is exactly what Kufuor did in the past!”

Kwadwo Jantuah’s endorsement of Mahama’s actions is indicated by this comparison to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, which suggests that the president’s present tactics are successful and evocative of his previous successful leadership.

The lecturer and broadcaster, who is also New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, attacked his own party for a number of mistakes that led to their crushing defeat by the NDC. He stated:

“I was among those who actively pushed for Nana Akufo-Addo to be elected president on radio prior to his election in 2016. We all thought that John Mahama was becoming haughty or pompous by not listening to anyone, therefore I did not even want to hear his name”.

“I believed it was Nana Akufo-Addo who could turned Ghana’s fortunes around. At the time, I had that much faith in him. I continued to commend him even after he was elected president because I believed he could accomplish anything”.

“When Nana Akufo-Addo arrived to cut off about 17 nuisance taxes, everyone was excited. But we had no idea that this was an economy under IMF control. Therefore, he was unable to do all what he promised. Moreover, he never again listened to anyone. He ignored any advice since he felt as though he was already there. At that point, Ghanaians started to hate him”.

However, according to Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, he thinks John Mahama is doing exceptionally well, especially in the battle against Galamsey.

“At least he is doing better than the last administration and does not need any advice. Since President Mahama has shamed me, I will rate him a 7 out of 10. His records indicate that he did not do well in the economy during his last tenure in government, but he has now proven me wrong. He is doing really well economically, even though I had serious doubts about his second coming. Mahama has gained a lot of knowledge over his eight years in opposition”.

“President Mahama’s appointments are another aspect of him that I have enjoyed this time. He has greatly benefited from the purposeful appointment of young, dynamic individuals that he can discipline and also develop for the future. Past appointments have taught him a lot, particularly how some of them let him down”.

Labelled As An NDC Sympathiser:

In response to the widely circulated rumor that he (Nana Kwadwo Jantuah) supports the NDC, he stated:

“Because my family is entirely NPP, I have never in my life voted for the NDC. However, I would have voted for John Mahama for the first time in my life If I had voted in the last elections in 2024”

Nana Jantuah added that, he will continue to be an objective journalist from a reputable media outlet like (the Multimedia) despite being an NPP member.

“I have always been an objective person, regardless of my political affiliation. At one point, the NPP were so angry with me in Kumasi for being objective on issues against my own party. And so they felt I had switched to the NDC as a member.” I am happy to say that all of the criticisms I leveled against the NPP came to pass, indicating that I did not lie or tried to attack my people”.
