Broadcast journalist Nana Kwadwo Jantuah of Nhyira FM made a critical comment on June 6, 2025, when he appeared on Kankam Boadu’s “The BKB” show.
He suggested that President John Mahama should “mafia” Nana Akufo-Addo, as he did to him while he was in opposition. In this sense, the word “mafia” connotes the use of power struggles or other calculated political ploys.
“With Nana Akufo-Addo, President John Mahama has been overly diplomatic. He ought to “mafia” him as well, and I am glad that some things are happening now. Do you know why? Because when they were in office, they did the same thing.
“I would have defended the NPP in the past, but not anymore. You see, people like us cautioned them (NPP) to exercise caution in their treatment of John Mahama because anything can happen. But, they ignored all advise. At a point, the NPP believed that everything Nana Akufo-Addo did was right, even if it wasn’t.
“In the name of applying the law, Nana Akufo-Addo fired Domelevo without cause, while Godfred Dame committed bigger crimes using the same law. Since my own party, the NPP, has done a lot of horrible things to the NDC, Mahama ought to do the same to them. For there to be peace, all sides must experience “mafiarism” in order for them to eventually stop ‘shooting’ at themselves”.
According to Kwadwo Jantuah, he receives at least 100 attacks from NPP supporters every day as a result of his objectivity, and he has reported every case to the police.
