Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South West, claims that before the current government assumed power, the economy was doing well under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, which was headed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.
He is therefore pleading with the newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to acknowledge this reality and take advantage of the chance to grow the economy.
Hon. Dapaah asserts that the NDC need to admit that the NPP made it easier under Nana Akuffo-Addo for them.
Mr. Dapaah stated on Wednesday, March 12, on Angel FM that the NPP government had done a good job of preparing to make it soft for President Mahama’s administration to run the nation.

He therefore finds it incomprehensible that NDC members are suddenly disparaging them. He believes that this would not lead to progress.
“What they’re saying doesn’t exist; in everything we planned, they’re coming to continue. But today, you’re painting your brother black. You claim things have become hard, meanwhile your promises are big. Where are you going to get the money?
“So, you must admit we created the avenue for you to utilize, but for you to come and sabotage is something that I don’t think will bring progress,” he explained.
He maintained that the current administration has been able to fulfill some of its promises to the people because of the sound policies they implemented.
The MP further said that, the new administration would not be able to include specific numbers in their 2025 budget statement if it were not for their wise practices while in office.
