The recent raids on former government appointees by Richard Jakpa, the Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, are damaging President John Mahama’s reputation and administration, according to former Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim.
In an interview with Saddick Adams on the network’s Morning Show, Hajia stated that the raid operations conducted by Mr. Jakpa to storm people’s homes without a search warrant were simply inappropriate and needed to be denounced.
“Jakpa is creating a bad name for John Dramani Mahama. If His Excellency would listen to me, Jakpa’s attitude and behaviour led to his sacking from the Ghana Armed Forces.
“He carries himself around as if he holds grudges against people and is seeking revenge. His [Jakpa’s] actions are creating a bad name for His Excellency”, she asserted.
She was discussing the recent “attacks” on former government officials, such as the one that was planned by National Security under Richard Jakpa and targeted Dr. Ernest Addison, the former governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
She further suggested that Mr. Jakpa should be permitted to conduct such operations through the appropriate procedures.

According to the former Chairperson, Jakpa should not have engaged in such behavior, particularly destroying the CCTV cameras in the former BoG’s residence.
“I cannot fathom the things they took from the house of the former BoG house because it is the same stuffs they would need for investigations. Removing the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras shows that you don’t want people to see your actions which paint the picture that you have something to hide,” she said.
