Prince Harry had to hold back his tears because he was so moved and intrigued by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statement. While many found inspiration in Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s remarks during the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 closing ceremony, the royal family members were deeply touched.
The Liberal Party Leader started out by describing how the Duke of Sussex brought the Invictus Games to life on February 16, 2025, at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
He continued speaking to Prince Harry, saying,
“You, you are the one who turned this incredible idea into a reality and as someone that you roped in early on in my time as Prime Minister, I can testify to the energy, the dedication, the commitment this man has to you and to this ideal.”
Justin Trudeau went on to say that everyone, including himself, owes the prince a great deal of gratitude for the numerous lives he has changed.
During this speech, Prince Harry was seen to be engulfed with emotion, giving a simple thumbs up while shedding tears, and the audience cheered with a standing ovation.
During Sunday’s event at the Invictus Games, Trudeau and Harry were seen interacting. This occurred during the seventh iteration of the international adaptive sports tournament, which featured indoor rowing competitions for sick, injured, and wounded veterans.
The intriguing aspect of this is that Prince Harry, a former British Army captain, founded the competition in question back in 2014. From February 8–16, Canada hosted the Invictus Games.
The Prime Minister of Canada also congratulated the athletes during his speech.
