According to Mypublisher24.com, the former NDC Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Rachel Appoh, was involved in a car accident in the United States.
Witnesses report that the former Mahama administration’s Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection and two other Ghanaians aboard a gray Toyota Camry sustained a variety of injuries.
The accident happened on Saturday, June 17, as the victims were returning from a friend’s wedding in one of the US states.
An unlicensed Ghanaian lady driver who was also at the wedding is said to have been the cause of the accident that involved three vehicles.
According to the source, “Rachel’s right leg has been severely affected” and an ambulance was dispatched to transport the victims to an unidentified hospital.
However, Rachel Appoh’s family and close friends have kept quiet about the incident.
Additionally, the former Gomoa Central Legislature has been unable to be reached by phone for comments.
In the general elections in 2024, Honourable Appoh is expected to make a comeback in the Gomoa Central Constituency to win back the seat she lost in 2016.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) postponed parliamentary primaries in 28 constituencies, including the Gomoa Central Constituency.
Prior to the accident, the campaign camp of the former Gender, Children, and Social Protection Minister was frightened when posters of her appeared in various locations throughout the constituency.
