Even though he has been under a long spell at Man City, Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling is open to a move to Manchester United. The Blues are willing to include Sterling in a deal for Jadon Sancho.
Sterling will leave this month after falling out of favour under Enzo Maresca, who has excluded the England star in any of his squads since the start of this season.
Sterling could be a part of a Chelsea deal to acquire Jadon Sancho, who is expected to leave United before the deadline for signing new players.
The 29-year-old came out on top for four Premier League titles championships at the Etihad, one FA Cup and five EFL Cups during his stint with City.
There is a sense of pessimism regarding the likelihood of a swap between Sterling and Sancho.
All of the teams that have expressed an interest in Sterling ahead of Friday’s deadline will face difficulties as a result of his reported weekly salary of £325,000.
In any case, Sancho’s reported £300,000-per-week compensation wouldn’t squeeze into Chelsea’s lowered wage structure.
Meawhile, Juventus also have a substantial interest in Sancho, with the Italian club believed to be further developed in their transition to sign the winger.
Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Juventus are also interested in Sterling.
Arsenal, over the weekend, were not actively pursuing Sterling but are fully aware of his situation. Prior to Friday night’s cutoff, the Gunners may change their stance.
