South African rapper AKA and another man were shot dead on Durban’s Florida Road. The attackers are still at large. On Friday 10, the musician was killed while waiting to perform at a Durban nightclub later that evening.
Two counts of murder are under investigation, and the perpetrators, who fled the scene on foot, are being sought by authorities. On Friday nights, when revelers and partygoers begin the weekend, Durban’s nightlife is typically bustling with activity. However, this Friday did not go as planned.
Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, a prominent rapper, was found dead outside the upscale European-inspired restaurant “Wish on Florida.” Another man was also found dead inside.
According to celebrity tributes, the second man was his former manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, despite the fact that the police claimed the second man was his 34-year-old bodyguard.

The “Fela in Versace” hitmaker was in the area after receiving a haircut in the same road earlier in the day, when he and the other man were killed in a shooting. The incident occurred two weeks after he celebrated his 35th birthday.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a spokesperson for the police in KwaZulu-Natal, stated that no other casualties had been reported.
The Incident:
Forbes and a bodyguard, according to Netshiunda, were allegedly walking from a restaurant to their vehicle when two armed suspects allegedly approached them and shot them from close range.
Netshiunda elaborated:
It is said that the suspects walked away from the scene.
He stated, “We will be investigating two counts of murder in hopes of finding the culprits.”
Garrith Jamieson, a spokesperson for ALS Paramedics Medical Services, stated that, at the scene, paramedics responded to multiple requests for assistance. Paramedics were met with total chaos” when they arrived to find two men shot multiple times.
“The first male showed no signs of life and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene. The second male was found in a critical condition. Advanced Life Support paramedics worked to stabilise the man on the scene, however the man’s condition deteriorated and he was declared deceased on the scene.
One of the deceased is thought to have been a well-known rapper. The area had been cordoned off, paramedics, police cars, and officers were all over, stunned partygoers stood around trying to figure out what had happened, and forensics workers took hours to process the bodies.
The well-known Cape Town musician was scheduled to perform at a Durban nightclub, but he was attacked just before midnight. He was earlier seen taking pictures at another Durban party spot during what appeared to be a very lively gathering.
