
Brazilian legend Ronaldinho have his name engraved on the Castelldefels promenade, which has a long history with Barça.
The Passeig de les Estrelles, the town’s new Walk of Fame, is modeled after the one in Hollywood.
The waterfront town which is only south of Barcelona, opened the new feature on Saturday June 22 with many neighborhood dignitaries in participation, and two of the first three to unveil their stars. Ronaldinho and FC Barcelona were also in attendance to assist in the unveiling of the new feature in Castelldefels.
Joan Laporta, president of the club, attended the event in Plaça de les Palmeres as well. She and town mayor Manu Reyes emphasized the long relationship between Barça and Castelldefels, which began when Arcadi Balaguer, president of the blaugrana from 1925 to 1929, oversaw the first electrical connections and public lighting in his hometown.
The Castelldefels Town Council wanted FC Barcelona to receive a star as soon as possible for this reason. The town is also a famous spot for players and staff, including Laporta himself, to have some time off. As a matter of fact, numerous players over the course of the years have decided to set up home there.

One of the players who wants to call this place home is Ronaldinho. In his five years at Barça he lived in Castelldefels and fashioned areas of strength for a with the neighborhood people. His name is now one of the first to appear on the brand-new Walk of Fame, which will also honor numerous other individuals from the fields of music, science, art, and culture.
Club president Joan Laporta ad this to say during the opening:
“Castelldefels is part of my childhood and I have fond memories of this town. And Ronaldinho is someone to whom we are eternally grateful for being the person who put a smile back on Barça faces. It is a privilege and honour to be here today and to see him get a star on the Walk of Stars.”
Ronaldinho also spoke:
“It is a pleasure to be at this tribute today Castelldefels and me enjoyed many stories together. It has continued to be my home for many years. Although I have stopped playing, I still feel the warmth of the people of Castelldefels.”
“Castelldefels is the place where the stars sleep, and Barcelona wants to become the Hollywood of Southern Europe. This Walk of Fame will feature other celebrities from the realms of culture, music, art and innovation.”
