Salah Disappointed In The 2021 Ballon D’Or Ranking

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has said he was “stunned” after completing in seventh position in the 2021 Ballon D’Or ranking.

Despite having an unbelievable year in 2021 with club and country, Salah missed out on the top three with Lionel Messi winning the award for a record seventh time ahead of Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Chelsea’s Jorginho.

The Egypt international said he wants to imitate Liberia’s George Weah who was the only African to win it in 1995, so he can also become the second African footballer to win the award.

“Neymar And Messi’s Return To Barcelona Would Be On A Free..”

“It’s true that I was shocked by my ranking in 2021. For this year, the defeat against Real Madrid is a disadvantage, even if I played a good game in the final. But it doesn’t cancel out everything I’ve achieved for months.

Let’s wait for the vote. And if I’m not Ballon d’Or in 2022, I’ll do everything I can to be the next one.”

Salah has gotten several individual distinctions following one more amazing effort at Anfield after scoring 31 goals in all competitions last season, assisting Liverpool with winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

He won the renowned Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year Award and was named Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year for the second time.

Be that as it may, Liverpool finished the season with a disheartening 1-0 loss to Spanish heroes Madrid in the Champions League final, but Salah said they had the right to dominate the match.
