Schools In Ghana To Reopen In Mid-January

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has on Sunday January 3, announced the resuming of all schools in the country. As per the President, schools in Ghana will return to full scholarly work starting mid-January 2021 (15th).

However, there will be a bureau meeting on Wednesday January 6 between the government of Ghana and the cabinet to conclude other outcomes before schools start.

After staying at home for 9 months, pupils and students will now go back to the classrooms but under strict protocols.

President Akufo-Addo on March 15, announced the closure of all schools in the country starting March 16, 2020, alongside a restriction on public get-togethers when Ghana affirmed two positive Covid-19 cases.

Notwithstanding, second-year students in junior and senior secondary schools were permitted back in school on October 5, 2020 to finish off the 2019/20 academic year.
