Senegal Players Earn Places In The Latest U-17 Best XI

Four players from Senegal’s team that won the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament just ended up making it into the Best XI. The Technical Study Group (TSG) of the competition in Algeria revealed.

The Teranga Cubs won the tournament with an impressive 2-1 victory over Morocco in the final on May 19, and some people stood out for their outstanding performances.

The Best XI of the competition, disclosed by the TSG features the talent inside coach Serigne Saliou Dia’s team, as four Senegalese players procured their merited spots in this renowned line-up.

In goal, Serigne Diouf displayed remarkable abilities, conceding just two goals all through the competition. Another outstanding player with the same name, Serigne Diouf, exercised authority over the central defense.

The masterful midfielder Abdou Aziz Fall remained in the center of the field, and the tournament’s leading scorer, Amara Diouf, also remained in the attacking line with brilliance.

The third-place finishers in the competition, Burkina Faso, also have three players in the Best XI.

Left back Lacina Traoré displayed his defensive prowess, and midfielder Rachid Ouedraogo significantly contributed to the team’s performance. Souleymane Alio, who was named the competition’s best player, assumed a significant role as a striker.

Nigerian right back Yahaya Lawali and Malians Sekou Kone and Mamadou Doumbia, who excelled in their respective positions as midfielders and strikers, also completed the formidable lineup. Hamid Eid from Morocco also made the list.
