
After 373 appearances, 25 trophies and a goal that won’t be ever be forgotten by Barcelona fans, midfielder Sergi Roberto has at long last left Barça following 14 years stretch at the club.
Sergi Roberto himself made the official declaration after spending almost his whole career at the club. His “marriage” with the team as Barcelona’s first team captain is over.
The Catalan player will hold a goodbye event at the Auditori 1899 at the Club on Tuesday 13 August at 12pm CEST within the sight of club president Joan Laporta.
Sergi Roberto joined La Masia at 14 years old after becoming well known in the youth teams of his local side Nàstic de Tarragona.
The midfielder advanced through the young teams to the Barça Atlètic team and then made his first team debut in November 2010 in a Copa del Rey tie against Ceuta.
Roberto officially joined the first team for the 2013/14 season after making appearances for the team twice.
After over 10 years with the main team, the midfielder has amassed 373 appearances for the first team. His versatility was crucial during that time, with spells at right back where he played the majority of FC Barcelona’s games.
Sergi Roberto scored 19 goals for the main team, the most popular of which being the vital strike in the 6-1 rebound against PSG in the Champions League.
As a blaugrana, he won the following 25 awards: 2 Champions Leagues, 7 league titles, 6 Copas del Rey, 2 Club World Cups, 2 UEFA Super Cups and 6 Spanish Super Cups as well as being captain during the 2023/24 season.
His 373 appearances for the Club put Sergi Roberto in 23rd place on the record-breaking list ahead of such legends as Luis Suárez, José Mari Bakero, Luis Enrique and Ladislau Kubala.
